Dr. Karen Hegland Receives Dean’s Citation Paper Award

Dr. Karen Hegland, lead author of the paper entitled Volitional Control of Reflex Cough, was selected as the Dean’s Citation Paper Award winner for the Department of Speech Language and Hearing Sciences.   This award is given by the College of Public Health and Health Professions to acknowledge innovation and excellence in research. The paper was published in the July 2012 issue of the Journal of Applied Physiology, with co-authors Paul W. Davenport, Ph.D., and Donald C. Bolser, Ph.D. (Department of Physiological Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine).
